First of all, to get this off my chest: R.I.P. Michael Jackson and Billy Mays... Good men... or in Michael Jackson's case, good... person. I think he ceased to become a man and just became a PERSON. No insult intended, that's just my theory.

Today I cleaned out the box that I'm keeping my 26 chicks in, and underneath the newspaper there was WHOLE FREAKING COLONY OF ANTS.

Well, not a colony in the sense of thousands of ants living somewhere with a queen ant, but colonies like the American colonies before the Revolutionary War. Little settlements.

No wonder ants keep popping up in my room. Pfft... I need to get something that will kill or discourage ants but have no ill effect whatsoever on baby chickens (or me...).

Mint does help keep them away, but I'm too lazy to walk sixty feet away from my house to pick some. And whenever I'm outside I forget. -facepalm-

I picked out my chick that I'm going to name Rocco. He's cute and likes to peck the box a lot even though there's nothing there. And he's not a meanie like some other chicks.

Yup! A veriety of it, anyway.

We grow it fresh in our yard. You can make tea out of it. But I made it far to potent, and gave much to much to Jack, and he went NUTS!
